This preplanned secondary analysis of the AMCPR trial looked into the utility of intra-arrest partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood gas (PaO2) measurements during out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) resuscitation. The key finding reported is that a higher intra-arrest PaO2 level was associated with achieving sustained return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC). However, the authors caution that this association is only partially independent of the total duration of resuscitation efforts.
